BLOOMINGDALE’S ANNOUNCES ATLANTA’S
2008 WOW! WOMEN TO WATCH

ATLANTA, GA (May 14, 2008) – Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square and Uptown Scoop.com (www.uptownscoop.com ), recently recognized 26 key women for their initiative, meaningful contributions and achievements relative to their respective fields during the 2008 Bloomingdale’s & Uptown Scoop WOW! Women to Watch of Atlanta.

Bloomingdale’s and UptownScoop.com formed an alliance to co-host the inaugural WOW! Women to Watch event on May 8, 2008 to honor women who are making a positive impact in the business and community worlds of Atlanta, now and in the future. These WOW women are also considered significant role models for other career-minded women.

Inspired by the recent release of the book “Where’s Your WOW? Sixteen Ways to Make Your Competitors Wish They Were You”, co-authored by prominent Atlanta author and media personality Robyn Spizman, the event served as a means to motivate Atlantan women to reach their full potential.

Recipients of the Bloomingdale’s & Uptown Scoop 2008 WOW! Women to Watch of Atlanta Awards include women from several leading businesses, non-profits and media outlets, including Deloitte, KPMG, NBC news affiliate 11 Alive, radio station Star 94, Atlanta Women’s Foundation, Girls Inc. of Atlanta, The Home Depot, Coca Cola, UPS, Turner Broadcasting and more.

After an exclusive fashion show by Eileen Fisher that showcased summer trends, awards were presented by Uptown Scoop CEO Lynne Homrich, Uptown Scoop Vice President Joiel Alexander and Public Relations Manager of Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall, Mara Maddox during the invitation only awards ceremony.

“It is an honor to recognize and reward these powerful role models,” Homrich said. “Not only do these women exemplify values of achievement, commitment, and excellence in their fields, each honoree is capable of making a tremendous and important difference to other women in the workplace by taking Atlanta business and community to the next level.”

“We are pleased to associate with Uptown Scoop’s brand, voice and dedication to women, and are truly enthusiastic about our alliance to present this award,” Maddox said.
